On August 28th, Professor Tian Fengwei once again visited Shaanxi Tou Emerging Culture Lecture Hall and gave a keynote speech on "modesty, prudence, perseverance and fortitude", which is also one of the lecture series of "gentleman culture". In the lecture, professor tian cited classical texts, with sharp, acridness, but also with humor and warmth, to enumerate many famous sayings and thoughts of ancient wise men such as lao-tzu, Confucius, mencius and xunzi about modesty. Professor Tian pointed out that modesty means being open-minded, not complacent and willing to accept criticism. Caution means paying close attention to the outside world and to one's own words and deeds so that nothing harmful or dangerous happens. This quality, from ancient times to the present, has been particularly important in learning or work. Professor Tian also explained the three principles of Confucian forgiveness, Buddhism tolerance and Taoism in dealing with the world, and summed modesty and prudence into the sincere and confident wisdom and virtue in people's hearts. It is a gentleman's character that needs every one of us to practice with actions, but also a kind of attitude in dealing with the world.
At the end of the lecture, Liu Ling, deputy secretary and general manager of SDI Xinxing, made a summary speech. She stressed that she hoped the majority of cadres and workers would always maintain the quality of modesty and prudence through this cultural lecture hall, keep in mind the importance of learning and thinking, never be proud of achievements, and continue to strive to reach new heights.
